The Grandson Timeline and Summary

When Phoenix arrives at the clinic, a nurse recognizes her as a woman who comes regularly to get medicine for her grandson.
The nurse asks how the boy is several times and then asks if he has died.
The nurse and Phoenix discuss what is wrong with the boy: He has a painful throat from swallowing lye approximately two or three years ago. Phoenix says the symptoms flare up regularly.
The nurse gives Phoenix the medicine as a charity case.
As Phoenix leaves the clinic, the attendant gives her a nickel. Phoenix says she will buy a paper windmill to bring back to her waiting grandson.
