Hush, Hush Chapter 9 Summary

  • Back at the arcade, Nora can't find Vee, Elliot, or Jules, and she can't find them in the parking lot, either. Her cell phone is out of battery (even though she charged it before she left), so she can't call Vee—instead she has to accept a ride home on the back of Patch's motorcycle.
  • They arrive at Nora's empty house, and Patch invites himself in and makes tacos. There is plenty of touching, flirting, and, shall we say, chemistry during the cooking and washing of dishes.
  • Nora starts to ask Patch some of the personal questions he has offered to answer, but she gets distracted by the urge to kiss him. She admits to being attracted to him even though she's not comfortable around him.
  • The kissing gets spicier than the tacos.
  • Nora's cell phone rings. It's her mom. Nora says she'll have to call her back and tells Patch he has to leave right away.
