Character Analysis
Rat is Victor's best friend and the one who hooks him up with the paper route gig for the month that he's away on vacation. Even though Rat knows Victor stutters, he doesn't make a big deal out of it—in fact, he's more focused on Victor's other attributes, like his incredible baseball skills. They are best friends because Rat treats Victor like any other kid and doesn't make fun of him for his speech. He sees past his friend's problems to the awesome person within.
