Speak, Memory Chapter 6, Section 5 Summary

  • Once, Vladimir thinks he's found a variation on a butterfly species—enough of a variation to title his discovery with his name. Alas, it turns out its a perfectly good specimen of a totally known insect. Then it happens again, with a different (if even more rare) specimen. Again, it's a no go. Vladimir will have to wait to get things named after him, it seems.
  • Vladimir has a particular love for hawkmoths, whose types come in all colors, throughout the season. (Want to read about the super-strange way hawkmoths fend off predator bats? Head here.)
  • Proudly, Vladimir would return home from his Vyra hunts to show his father the wonders he'd found.
