Character Analysis
Will Legate is one of Roth Edmonds's obnoxious friends who go hunting with him every year to the Delta. Will keeps teasing Roth about a "doe," which is to say, about a woman he is supposed to be meeting clandestinely on his hunting trips. It turns out that Roth actually has a child with this woman. Isaac McCaslin, who also goes to the Delta hunting trips, seems to think that Will is a total pain.
