Tender is the Night Book Two, Chapter Sixteen Summary

  • Dick tells Franz that he wants to go away for a while, without Nicole. She’s been OK for about three months, and is happy with her nurse. He wants Franz to do him the favor of watching out for her.
  • Franz agrees, but isn’t sure Dick should trust him with watching out for Nicole.
  • Dick flies to Munich the next week for a psychiatrist’s convention that he isn’t going to attend.
  • He hangs out in a country village for a bit and then starts heading for Greece.
