- It turns out that living in an ancient village isn't all it's cracked up to be. That is, at least for Rita.
- Girls get the short end of the stick at Resthaven because they have to do the cooking and cleaning while the guys just sit around telling stories. It isn't fair, she tells her brother.
- Besides, she doesn't like that the chief is married to a fourteen-year-old girl that he knocked up. That's way too young.
- Word on the street is that he was married before, but that wife (Myanda) didn't have any babies.
- Naturally, they blamed the woman, so he got a new wife (Chipo).
- Tendai knows his sister means well, but she's getting reckless and she can't keep bad-mouthing the chief, even if she disagrees with whatever he's doing.
- He tells his sister to zip it. He wants to get out of there just as much as she does, but no one will let him use a phone or leave the gates.
- They'll just have to make the best of it until he can figure out what to do.
- Rita is angry, but she's not sure what other options she has.
- Besides, she knows that no one there trusts them. They'll only accept Tendai, Rita, and Kuda after the Spirit Medium gives them the stamp of approval, and he won't do that until after he delivers Chipo's baby.
