Character Analysis
Julia Conner moves into Holmes' hotel with her husband Ned and daughter Pearl. She takes an instant liking to the young and handsome doctor. In fact, she likes him a little too much.
Ned becomes jealous and fed up and leaves Julia and Pearl behind at the hotel. Holmes promises to marry Julia, but then quickly becomes bored with her.
One day, Julia announces she's pregnant, and Holmes convinces her that they need to marry before they have children, so he'll perform an abortion. The operation takes place on Christmas Eve, but Julia doesn't leave Holmes' private operating room alive.
