Thursday—Four to Close
- The dinnertime rush starts at around 5:15PM, and all the drivers time it out so that only one is in the shop at a time. Pretty sophisticated system.
- Vera heads home after her last run, and Charlie makes her turn on the rock station. Wait, how does Charlie make her do anything? Isn't he dead?
- She goes through the McDonald's drive-thru and parks to eat. A grape from her wrap slips out of her fingers and she tells Charlie to cut it out. Okay…
- Vera writes "I miss you Charlie" on a napkin in Sharpie, and then tears off the message and eats it.
- Then she pulls out her vocab list for the week. After all, she's still a student with classes to study for.
