Repossessed Theme of Life, Consciousness, and Existence

For a demon, Kiriel has a huge appreciation for life in Repossessed. He loves looking at squirrels and tasting new foods, and he thinks riding the bus with his head out the window is a thrill. Can you blame him? Usually, he's stuck in hell (for real), watching people suffer over and over again. Boy, does that get old fast. So when he gets to earth, he doesn't take the little things for granted. We see him explore his body and surroundings, delighted and surprised by what he finds. Who knew a packet of ketchup could be so enticing?

Questions About Life, Consciousness, and Existence

  1. What's the difference between an angel, Fallen angel, and human? What can Kiriel do on earth the he can't do below? What can he do as a demon that he can't as a human?
  2. Is there a big life lesson Kiriel takes away from his time on earth? Does he go back to hell changed from having lived as a human?
  3. When Kiriel first gets to earth, he's excited by all the sights and sounds he gets to experience. Does this change over time? Why?
  4. What does this tell us about his existence?
