Sinjin is the captain of the reality show Captain Bodacious, and becomes actual ship captain when his crew accidentally sees The Corporation engaging in human trafficking. That's their cue to flee American waters.
Sinjin is kind of lazy—he takes Tiara's bed and asks her to wait on him when he washes up on shore. Um, thanks, dude. He's reckless, too. He convinces the pirates to leave the girls, which is sort of supposed to look heroic, but it really just leaves them vulnerable.
He does have a good side, though. He's well read, and he doesn't bat an eye when he finds out that Petra is transgender. He really loves his family, and he enjoys getting in touch with his glam side with help from his new ladylove, Petra. And in the end, his crew comes back and helps the beauty queens escape. As far as pirates go, could be a lot worse.
