- Shin is on the patio when Jason arrives. He's a bit sulky, but Jason gets his attention with the story of the previous night. When he gets to the part about swimming in the water tank, Shin looks to the glass of water he's been drinking and drops it.
- Shin is very upset that the others "entered the Godhead" without him (22.36)—they should have waited for him even though he left. He says he is still going up: "I don't think I have a choice" (22.47). Jason suggests that maybe they're getting carried away with the whole Ten-legged God thing, but Shin's mind is made up.
