- Zoey enjoys fencing. It helps that the instructor, Dragon, is totally impressive with a sword; he pairs her with Damien to drill, since Damien's pretty good at fencing.
- Next is lunch, during which Stevie Rae grills Zoey about Erik Night. Everyone at the table gossips about how he used to go out with Aphrodite, but since he dumped her, he's got more than just a pretty face going for him.
- After lunch is Spanish class, and after that is Equestrian Studies. That prof, Lenobia, is super hardcore and makes everyone clean stalls the whole time.
- But since Grandma Redbird used to have a horse, Zoey's used to this whole thing. Lenobia notices how competent Zoey is and lets her brush a beautiful horse named Persephone.
- Stevie Rae comes to fetch Zoey for the school-wide full moon ritual; when Zoey remembers that she also has to attend the Dark Daughters ritual afterward, she's unhappy.
